Supported independent living accommodation for NDIS participants

Your Own Home, Your Own Life - With the Right Support Around You

Having a place to call home - genuinely your own - is something most people take for granted. For many NDIS participants, Supported Independent Living (SIL) makes that possible. It's not about moving into an institution. It's about having a home that fits your life, with skilled support workers available to help with the things you need assistance with, while leaving everything else entirely up to you.

At Pristine Care, we approach SIL with one non-negotiable priority: the participant's quality of life, on their own terms. We support people to live in shared or individual housing arrangements across Victoria, New South Wales, and the ACT, providing person-centred daily support that builds skills, promotes independence, and respects the rhythms and preferences of each person we work with.

"Living with Pristine Care's support changed what I thought was possible for my future. I've learned to cook, manage my own schedule, and I go to the gym three times a week now." - Participant, Melbourne VIC
SIL daily support and skill building

daily living and personal care: Our SIL workers help with daily living and personal care - morning and evening routines, meals, medication, and hygiene support - while actively encouraging skill development so participants can do more for themselves over time.

Shared living and social participation in SIL

household management and community participation: We facilitate household management and community participation - cooking, cleaning, and grocery shopping alongside participants as well as supporting them to engage in social, recreational, and community activities they value.

Frequently Asked Questions

Here are some of the questions we hear most often from participants and families considering this service.

  • 01 What's the difference between SIL and SDA?

SIL (Supported Independent Living) is the support funding - it pays for the workers and assistance you receive while living in your home. SDA (Specialist Disability Accommodation) is the housing itself - funding for purpose-built or modified dwellings for people with extreme functional impairment or very high support needs. You may access SIL without SDA, and vice versa, depending on your situation.
