High Intensity Supports

High intensity disability support care for complex needs participants

Expert Support for Complex and High-Care Needs

Some participants require support that goes well beyond standard care - clinical procedures, complex physical assistance, or 24-hour active supervision due to the nature of their disability. High Intensity Supports exist within the NDIS to ensure that people with the most complex support needs can still live at home, in the community, and in arrangements that honour their dignity and goals.

At Pristine Care, our high intensity support workers are specifically trained and verified to provide these specialised supports safely and competently. We work closely with allied health teams, community nurses, and families to ensure that every aspect of a participant's complex care is managed with expertise, consistency, and genuine care for the person. We operate across Victoria, New South Wales, and the ACT.

"We spent three years trying to find workers who could safely manage our son's tracheostomy care. Pristine Care finally gave us support workers we could trust completely." - Parent and carer, Sydney NSW

Frequently Asked Questions

Here are some of the questions we hear most often from participants and families considering this service.

  • 01 How does my NDIS plan fund High Intensity Supports?

High Intensity Daily Activities are funded under a specific line item in the Core Supports budget. Because they attract a higher NDIS price limit than standard supports - reflecting the additional training and expertise required - the NDIS must explicitly fund them in your plan. If you believe you need high intensity supports but they're not currently in your plan, we can help you gather the evidence needed to request this at your next plan review.
  • 02 How do I know your workers are qualified for complex procedures?

  • 03 Can high intensity support be combined with community nursing?

  • 04 What if we have an emergency outside of planned support hours?
